Sue West brings an air of knowledge and spirit that is truly refreshing to California Wealth Advisors.

In 1978, Sue joined the securities industry and was registered in 1980 to sell securities. She worked for Merrill Lynch, Oppenheimer and Legg Mason. In 1993, she took a hiatus to raise her family and returned to UCSB to complete an accounting degree and to prepare for the CPA exam.

She practiced as an accountant for several years before being courted by one of her clients, a law firm, to assist them in expanding their firm. After 15 years and growing the firm from 11 employees to 60, she decided to pass the baton to the younger management team and planned to retire.

She attended a class at Cal Lutheran University a few years prior on retirement and investment planning. She thought she knew everything about investing but was very taken by the presentation of Kelley Slaught, CEO of California Wealth Advisors. She realized Kelley and the team at California Wealth Advisors had a unique way in managing portfolios and Sue quickly became a client, and then a staff member.
